Development of Photocatalytically Active Anodized Layers by a Modified Phosphoric Acid Anodizing Process for Air Purification

چکیده

One of the key urban air quality issues is pollution by nitrogen oxides (NOx). To reduce NOx, facade cladding could be provided with photocatalytic properties incorporating titanium dioxide nanoparticles. For this purpose, a modified phosphoric acid anodizing process (MPAA) was developed for alloy EN AW-5005, in which highly ordered anodized structures low degree arborization and tortuosity were produced. Pore widths between 70 nm 150 layer thicknesses about 2–3 μm obtained. The subsequent impregnation carried out dip coating from water-based systems. Depending on dip-coating parameters suspension used, pores can filled up to 60% TiO2 Photocatalytic tests according ISO 22197-1 certify high activity obtained rPCE values > 8 2, achieving “photocatalytically active purification”. Tests corrosion resistance coatings commercially available aluminum cleaner confirm protective effect when compared nonanodized material, as well compacted layers.

Purification of Wet Process Phosphoric Acid by Solvent Extraction using Cyclohexanol

Solvent extraction using organic solvents is an important technology for the purification of wet process phosphoric acid (WPA). In this study, the purification process of WPA, using a new type of solvent extraction system, cyclohexanol diluted in kerosene, was investigated. The equilibrium phase diagram of the system H3PO4 H2Osolvent mixtures at 313.2K was obtained. The effects of extraction ...

a study on thermodynamic models for simulation of 1,3 butadiene purification columns

attempts have been made to study the thermodynamic behavior of 1,3 butadiene purification columns with the aim of retrofitting those columns to more energy efficient separation schemes. 1,3 butadiene is purified in two columns in series through being separated from methyl acetylene and 1,2 butadiene in the first and second column respectively. comparisons have been made among different therm...

Anodizing color coded anodized Ti6Al4V medical devices for increasing bone cell functions

Current titanium-based implants are often anodized in sulfuric acid (H(2)SO(4)) for color coding purposes. However, a crucial parameter in selecting the material for an orthopedic implant is the degree to which it will integrate into the surrounding bone. Loosening at the bone-implant interface can cause catastrophic failure when motion occurs between the implant and the surrounding bone. Recen...
